We all heard the dire warnings of the April Fool’s Day attack of the Conficker Virus. Little did we know at the time that after April 1st passed, Conficker would show itself as part of a scareware scam.

It has been a nice little break, with our inboxes pretty clean and our spam filters pulling part-time duty, but those quiet days are over as spammers have come back with even more sophisticated and dangerous missives aimed right at your computer.

Don’t be a Scareware Victim

We have all gotten the pop-up window that says we have a serious malware or performance issue. There are also the emails that appear, with offers of computer system scans and repairs. Have you ever asked yourself, how do they know there is a problem with my machine? The senders of these little doom-sayings do not know a thing about your system, they don’t have to. Offers like these tend to be scams.
